Training Centers

Family Planning National Training Centers
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Population Affairs (OPA) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health has recently reorganized its training resources into five National Training Centers (NTCs) that will work in tandem to enhance the capacity of Title X family planning grantees and agencies to deliver reproductive health services to the Title X community and beyond.

STD/HIV National Network of Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC)
The NNPTC is a CDC-funded group of regional centers created in partnership with health departments and universities. The PTCs are dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the areas of sexual and reproductive health. The NNPTC provides health professionals with a spectrum of state-of-the-art educational opportunities including experiential learning with an emphasis on prevention.

Ratelle Prevention Training Center (Region I PTC)
In conjunction with regional medical schools and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Sylvie Ratelle STD/HIV PTC of New England offers courses for health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment and management of sexually transmitted diseases and the prevention of HIV. These offerings meet a continuing need for effective training in STD clinical services in support of disease prevention, and are a primary source of post graduate STD education for medical professionals. PTC courses are provided primarily for health professionals in Region I.
