Adolescents and Sexually Transmitted Infections

This program will provide an overview of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)—their prevalence in and impact on adolescent patients, with discussions about agents that include Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhea, and Trichomonas vaginalis. Coverage will also include the epidemiology of disease, available testing and relevant guidelines. Special circumstances, such as testing for STIs in cases of abuse, will also be discussed.
